This works now as expected (that is, it kicks and screams as I'm trying to use illegal monikers). Precisely what I wanted, thank you :)

Updated test results:
"0_bottom": warnings and a failure (Mechanize couldn't find forms with renamed monikers)
"bottom_0": ok
